The Top 10 biggest winning bets from the past 10 years

3 January 2019

We all dream of that big bet win, the 5000/1 odds like those of Premier League title winners Leicester City coming through and boosting our bank balances significantly.

To celebrate the return of the Premier League, we have trawled through the betting history of thousands of players to discover the top 10 biggest wins in the past 10 years.

Steve Whiteley, 2014

Amount won: £1,450,000

60-year-old Steve Whiteley picked six winners at Exeter Racecourse, with the final winner, Lupita coming in at 12/1.

His £2.00 stake in his accumulator netted him a ridiculous £1,450,000. Rich for life.

Fred Craggs, 2008

Amount won: £1,000,000

Fred Craggs from Yorkshire beat odds of 2,000,000/1 to successfully turn a 50p Horse Racing accumulator into £1 million. The last horse to come in was named Dream Come True.

Anonymous, 2017

Amount Won: £823,000

A five fold accumulator earned a Leicestershire gambler over £800,000. Placing £19 on five horses at Punchestown, the punter received the highest ever pay-out on horse racing, with the biggest odds he backed lying at 33/1.

Anonymous, 2014

Amount won: £650,000

A punter from London turned £100 into £650,000 with a very bold bet. With just 20 minutes left on the clock of Saturday’s 3pm games, the brave punter put eight £10 sevenfold accumulators on alongside a £20 eightfold accumulator on. By 5.45pm they’d earned themselves a huge jackpot.

Anonymous, 2011

Amount won: £585,000

An anonymous fan from Malta bagged over half a million with his first 18 games going perfectly. The last game was between Chelsea and Liverpool with the former going in as favourites. The fan had backed Liverpool and with three minutes left on the clock Glen Johnson popped up to bag the £585,000 winner.

Turning 80p into £585,000, what a bet.
