According to information from the Buckingham Palace, the baby weighed 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg), with Prince Harry watching the birth take place.

Afterward, Harry was short of words in elation about the maternal rigor of delivery.

The new royal baby is seventh in line to the throne, well placed in line behind Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis (all children of the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his wife) and Prince Harry.

The baby is the Queen Elizabeth’s eighth great-grandchild.
