I have been a matched better for around 2 years and my experience with matchbook has been awful. My account was restricted because of a source of funds requests (understandable but very intrusive). They wanted numerous bank statements, net postions from bookie accounts which took weeks and once my account was reinstated, my 0% commission offer was removed. This was because I placed a few back bets because the odds were good, despite the majority of my bets being lay bets (what you would expect a matched better to do). This was not addressed in any t&cs, it was just decided one day. If this had been communicated prior I would probably not have done this. I now have no reason to use them again as other exchanges offer 0% deals for matched betters and betfair offer a 2% flat rate with more liquidity. Furthermore, when I challeneged this on live chat the agent was very unhelpful and blunt. Will not use again and I recommend you avoid also. Would not be surprised to see them go into liquidation in the near future.

All good until you have an issue and need to deal with their customer services. I am not sure where they are based but my guess would be outer space. They’re rude, incompetent and just close the chat when you don’t respond for like 2 minutes! Absolutely some of the worst customer services I have ever seen. I am trying to withdraw money from my account but it is trying to withdraw to an old bank card that is no longer valid, it was lost. Now most bookmakers understand this and will remove old cards from their system, not Matchbook. They asked me to send in a photo of the card in question, the one that was lost… literally asking the impossible. Apart from that they want to see bank statements from when I last used the card to upload funds into Matchbook… I asked them when that was and they told me they don’t know. I am at a complete loss and I guess I shall have to go through the courts to get my money out. Avoid at all costs.

“SERIOUS FAILINGS”Matchbook was fined £740k and suspended by the Gambling Commission. I find it hard to believe that they are now a reputable operator, considering their history which looked more like an organised crime operation. I certainly wouldn’t let them have access to sensitive, personal information.

Would be 5 star if they honoured the fact there exchange odds froze on me. Laid a £50 bet at a bookie saw a 100% lay match at same odds the odds froze rejected my lay then throughout the whole in play horse race every odd mived apart from the horse I needed it just froze.Lost £50 if Matchbook fix this I will change to 5 star

I’ve been using Matchbook for many years without any problems and they have some of the best sports odds available online in the UK and worldwide. Highly reccomend them.

The safer gambling team on Matchbook treat customers like criminals, they will not answer any email correspondence, treat customers with contempt, basically behave like bullying nazis. They will without warming freeze your account, ask for source of wealth, then take two weeks to review simple info!! Then ask for more, sit on it for days… I suggest shareholders would freak out if then knew how the safer gambling department within Matchbook were behaving. Even the frontline customer service seem to be embarrassed. We all know that bookmakers have to conduct these affordability checks but there is a right way to do it, and there is Mathbooks way.

Good exchange, good liquidity, seemingly excellent customer service so far. Nice layout and high level of funds protection for customers. Website could do with a few additions to make the experience easier but overall, its up there with its competitors. It is now my main exchange.

Mis-leading free matched bet for new users. Make sure you read all the small print! Looking at all the other negative reviews I would use a reputable company instead. Won’t ever use again or recommend

been using matchbook for 2 years, suddenly upon loosing my debit card they want verification and even thou i have supplied the documents they say 7-10 working days, customer service is a joke and they won’t resolve it, just more excuses and lies, then eventually they blocked me from contacting the live chat, so i can do nothing to resolve it even thou their website says “we need documents, contact us via live chat” they just claim they can’t resolve it and i have to wait 10 days, but all the time i amloosing money while i can’t use their website.

Please avoid Matchbook as just robbing customers.Spent £1500 with them as a new customer over the last few weeks and lost it all. Win £162 and tried to withdraw today. Told there is a technical issue and it may be my bank does not accept gambling withdrawals , however the bank card used accepted all my Deposits . Funny how it becomes an issue when withdrawing. Obvious Matchbook are just scamming customers. I will keep you posted on any updates but please please please avoid this shady company. Avoid at all costs. What I find bemusing is why would any company who get a new customer who loses £1500 in a few weeks and try and cheese them off over a £162 withdraw. Bemusing !!!

Have had money locked in there platform for over 4 months now , requested to be called every so often to get an update as to when they will unblock my account and send the funds back to me, but haven’t had a call in months, have requested call backs from there “live chat” team and all they say is “no-one is around for a call back”. Don’t listen to these reviews on this site as they are 99% fake. Terrible customer service and is taking this long to be paid out! There prices are always under betfair’s and you are constantly betting against robots. So my personal opinion is to use betfair as you will get paid more and most probably quicker !

You need to improve how money is deposited into your system and give control of that back to the customer and not leave to the company which can be too long to get changed.

Invasion of privacy! The only exchange to ask for excessive personal information. They would ask for your bank details if they could get away with it.

I wanted to place a bet on my team to win their league with Matchbook, as they were offering £30 in free bets. Spent ages downloading the necessary docs for verification as plenty times they were not accepted. When they were finally accepted I rushed through the rest of the account opening process only to be told I hadn’t added the promo code and they wouldn’t allow me to add it or to open a different account. Disappointing they wouldn’t help me bearing in mind all the time I spent getting my account verified.

Matchbook is good with an excellent search feature, however there’s just something that puts it behind Smarkets… Maybe it’s just me as I feel more comfortable with Smarkets, but it beats Betfair Exchange hands down!It’s also pretty easy & quick to get someone to help on chat which is refreshing

Had an exchange bet on today (Saturday). It didn’t look like things were going my way so decided to trade out for a small loss.However the site was down and I couldn’t trade out so the trade ran its course and I lost £140.I complained to Customer Service who said a) the outage was not something they could control (which I do understand) and b) apologised for “ the inconvenience”. I’m not a big trader but £140 is more than an inconvenience. Think I will stick with other trading sites.

Paid this exchange thousands in commission yet they decided to stiff me for £140.00. Funds made unavailable on a winning bet, then get an agent telling me everything looks fine. Off to Betfair I go. Not ideal but at least they pay out on wining bets.
