Opened an account last week and verified it straight away. Received an email saying account was verified. Went on to place two big bets on their sportsbook, on Champions league topscorer, and Man City to reach the final. Watched the match and was delighted with the result. Logged in to my account to see the bets were void!! Live chat told me they needed more documents and this was normal practice...I could not believe it. I have been betting for a long time, but this is a first for me... I was asked to provide more documents, which I did, and told the bets might get reinstated. I am waiting 4 days now and they are still processing with very little hope of my bets actually getting reinstated. If you think because a bookie is a big name, and spends a lot of money on marketing, this also makes them trustworthy, think again! Absolutely appaling and frankly illegal behaviour by these thieves. STAY AWAY!

Firstly it took a while to get verified but that was partly my fault. However, it was difficult to get to speak with someone who could help resolve the issue and I had to provide lots of documents more then any other bookie i've an account with every asked for. Anyways, it was resolved and my account was verified. So, after about two weeks, I decided to start using an e-wallet for Betfair transactions simply because I don't want bookies and exchanges showing up on my bank statement all the time. With bookies I had no issue using an e-wallet (once you deposit and withdraw back to it, no issue) So with Betfair, I deposited with the e-wallet, used the funds to make two small bets which both won and started a withdraw of some of the winnings, around 40 euro (so a small amount) Then they suspended my account for proof of funds and asked for everything short of my tax returns. Let me put it this way, you need less financial proof to get a loan of several thousand! What's worse is the agent couldn't solve the issue and now I've been left waiting hoping they will return my money which is only 100 euro but still. I've been made feel like some sort of criminal. I get needing to make sure people are using legit funds but I think this was overkill. Fine flag my account and watch for suspicious activity but this was jumping the gun. They didn't even email me to see if there was a reasonable explanation for using a e-wallet. Plus they allow use of e-wallets on their site so it makes sense customers would use the option. I would avoid Betfair. There are other exchanges out there. My one star is not so much based on them requiring proof of things, thats a given but rather on how many documents the ask for. They behave like a taxman and I personally don't feel comfortable giving that amount of detailed financial information to a bookie not because I'm doing something dishonest but because they are a private company not a government agency.

Started using the app for the first time during the end of lockdown 3 and I have never betted online before. I usually go the high street shops like William hill and bet fred in Blackpool. So firstly, The app itself:it’s good easy to navigate around plenty of things to bet on I like roulette and blackjack and football Customer service:Non existent apart from a chat robot they try make it difficult for you to get in touch so if anything goes wrong you have had it Getting paid:Is does take 2 days to enter your bank account but I spent a couple of grand on the roulette and football recently so they pay me straight away so it does vary At the end of the day I would imagine these betting apps all the same?soon as you start snatching a few thousand they will start playing dirty tricks and excuses not to pay you so my advise just use them as a bit of fun and if you ever gonna put a big bet on just use the high street shops just to make sure

In the 2000's betfair was good.at some point around 2010 it became clear to me that it was no longer(if it ever had been) punters vs punters.the 'managed' exchanges for racing are controlled completely by insiders, I am guessing employees, that watch everything you do, know exactly when you login and will try to ensure you cannot make a profit. There is no doubt about it either that they do this.obv not happy with a small % they want EVERYONE to lose.I went on for a few months 2017 or so and it was even worse.the 'auto cash-out' feature only locks your desired profit in when the horse is crossing the line to win so they can pocket the difference.I watched races where the cash out stayed around 10 times my auto cash out value for 2-3 minutes and it never cashed out and the horses lost.paddy power taking over betfair ruined what was left of a great concept.don't believe the adverts, it's you against the bookie-not other punters.believe me!!

You didn't win today BUT why not try"... this and that.... actually deter Customers from playing further?! OH BALLS to YOU, BETNOT FAIR. You are a DISGRACE. OH BALLS AND EAT THEM WHILE YOU ARE THERE! Betfair are in a dominant market position. Unfortunately this means that they do not have to respect their customers as basically in the betting exchange world they have little opposition. This is evidenced by Betfair's attitude to negative reviews on Trustpilot. They have not responded to one single negative review in the past twelve months. I was a customer for over twenty years. My betting turnover with Betfair over this period was around 80k to which I made a small loss. So I presume I was a good customer. Recently I changed both my email address and my home phone number. I updated my new contract details in my Betfair account via the edit process provided by the company exactly for this purpose. The next day when I tried to log into my account,a notice appeared,"account closed".Betfair had made a mistake in closing my account, unfortunately for me they would not accept this. I tried several times to resolve the situation via the chat service, they would not accept that they had made a mistake. I asked, as I am entitled to make a complaint. I was assured this process would happen,it didn't,So thats it I am no longer allowed to bet with Betfair.

I recently had to review STSbet because those scumbags are attempting to welch on a winning bet. Lots of my reviews for bookies are of similar experiences to that one. Earlier today Betfair imposed temporary limits on my account, as yesterday I did deposit quite a large sum of money. They asked me questions all based on what I'm getting from gambling, how much it effects my life, etc. Betfair genuinely chased me up to check i was gambling within my means and I wasn't depressed and chasing previous losses or whatever. My account was quickly unrestricted. Could I really be bothered having to answer some "sort of" personal questions about my gambling... no not really. However the fact that this is something they do if someone makes a huge deposit and places lots of bets was just kind of nice to see. Deposits and withdrawals are all very fast, sportsbook odds are some of the best, the exchange side is brilliant, they don't attempt to not pay out on winning bets and bets tend to be settled very quickly. In an industry of absolute scumbags devoid of any morals, Betfair is actually quite a decent place to gamble with

It's a shame they don't spend as much money on customer service and on fixing the live video feed as they spend on advertising. Used to be wonderful now just dreadful They should write a book, how to take a wonderful business and run it into the ground within 4 years. Flutter have done a tremendous job destroying it

Well after having not played on here for a while I tried to log in, no access as proof of I.D needed, contacted live chat, after uploading documents account was re-opened in about 20 minutes, great. Pondered about and played for a while then went to contact preferences and changed how they could contact me, put to by post and email only, next thing logged out of account and no access. Contacted live help who got me up and running in about 20 minutes. Played the site for a few hours then decided to check my account, how they contacted me was all ticked so changed my preferences to via post or email, I was kicked out again....contacted live support got the lovely Nicole, after twenty minutes told to try my account again as was showing active with no problems, still no access, the lovely Nicole then said please wait while she contacts management, an hour later she tells me she has reset my password and to check my email....I said o.k I will try that....she immediately shut the chat window...strange I thought...checked email...sure enough there was an email, however all it said was password had been changed, to what I have no idea?..went into live help yet again and now they refuse to answer me, I have money in this account! absolute disgrace...my advice stay well clear this site is illegal in my opinion.

Sad that Betfair have to hide behind the 'technical issues' disclaimer. It's their technology which we use and would like to trust. I had good experience of their customer care in the past but maybe since they were taken over they have become just like any other 'bookie'. Take.take, take

Terrible app and customer service. This app is very broken and the features don't work. Crashes when loading into slot games, most recent I had 5 free spins on Gonzo as a user and it would not work on both mobile and tablet. I contacted customer service on Twitter twice with no response and the free spins timed out and was not able to use them as it just didn't work when you clicked the link to the game. Don't use this, go elsewhere so you get the benefits of working apps with your money and have fun with your gambling time.

I've been a user of betfair since 2006 but I've had a recent experience with one of their affiliates who provides services to them. Their affiliate has attacked a number of people over twitter, has made a number of homophobic comments and has threatened people. He has also publicly disclosed personal data on social media. It is a shame I am leaving, I trade thousands of pounds each month, but I do not feel comfortable on the platform any longer and I am moving to a competition.

1. Since CEO Peter Jackson took over, Betfair and Paddy Power has gone downhill badly. It's clear he doesn't care about Customer Service, he wants to buy growth, not deliver growth, we all know what happened to the banks due to that behaviour. 2. All of my winning exchange bets had the profit paid, but my stake wasn't returned, it just vanished. Not even the profit is right on a number of the winning bets, (I'm aware of dead heat rules etc) 3. No Phone number, only live chat that is slower than a tortoise wading through treacle. 4. 2 hours and 50 minutes on the live chat and no further forward, buck passed to another department, raised a complaint, timescales for either being delt with not given. It's no exaggeration to say Betfair's Customer Service is amongst my top 3 worst Customer Service experiences I've ever had, it probably takes a close 2nd place... extracting molars without pain relief would be easier.

I've been a long term customer of Betfair's. Suddenly, on logging in today, I was advised I'd had my account closed. They say it's because I "self excluded" from a Paddy Power account 7 years ago. Lies. I closed that account due to Paddy Power's immoral advertising practices. I'm not even a problem gambler. I've had one bet this year and that was a NR! Flutter Entertainment as a whole are a disgusting bunch. Good riddance to Betfair. Sadly Paddy Power and Skybet are also part of Flutter.

Impossible to contact re: providing know your customer documents. Live chat, which previously worked, is now no longer functional on multiple devices. No apparent phone number. No apparent email - one email that was given now returns auto replies saying it's closed. Twitter support continually trying to direct me to live chat, continually ignoring that I'm telling them it doesn't work.

So so bad. If you need to contact them on live chat they normally send a first message saying they'll be with you in 15 - 20 minutes! They don't have to care anymore because nowhere else for people to go. The other exchanges have zero liquidity

The betfair exchange is still by far the best there is. No betting exchange comes close when it comes to ease of use and volume of money. In fact no betting site comes close for ease of use. They're not perfect though I don't think enough is done to protect punters from making palpable errors.

Betfair's customer service has really gone downhill, probably because they got taken over by Flutter. They do things completely the wrong way around - they approve big deposits or exposure increases BEFORE verifying people or checking if the person is gambling responsibly. Then they do all they can to screw you over. First things first: I'm completely genuine (not a problem gambler - I make money betting on politics at exchanges since the bookies restrict my stakes to amounts like 1 at a time due to winning too much, and I have a Premium Charges page. I'm definitely not a money launderer, never have shown any signs of that, and I've only ever used one Betfair account in over 15 years). Last month Betfair kept constantly emailing me asking repetitive questions about my gambling. I explained how things were fine multiple times - I was betting big at short odds on the US election *after* the result was known, so it was a super safe bet - but my account still got suspended or restricted each time. This is bad because if you want to trade in or out of open bets or have plans to withdraw, you can't do that when that happens and no notice is given. Then they started asking for documents to prove my identity and source of money. I diligently send all evidence asked for each time, and on the same day - passport/driving licence/bank statement/photo of debit card/utility bill/savings/stocks. Yet suddenly with no notice and no reason given, they closed my account. Live chat waiting times have got bad too - 50 minutes to wait to get through last time. Live chat didn't give me a reason but said that someone would contact me. A couple days later I get a request for evidence of an old debit card. I provide a bank statement with evidence of Betfair payments from it. (It was for the same bank account for the one I use now: my bank simply had sent me a replacement card.) I've still not heard back and I'm unhappy about this because it's such an unprofessional way to do business as well as unfair a way of doing things. A search of twitter finds that they've been doing this to multiple people and that it takes months to resolve even if you have to go to court. :/ I feel targeted because I know that there are real problem gamblers out there - people who lose money they can't afford but Betfair are using 'regulations' as an excuse to go after people who are clearly aren't, to try to get rid of them. It definitely feels like that Betfair are looking for any kind of reason to ban me and keep my money which stresses me out. I must say that if Betfair still don't tackle the real problem gamblers, the government will end up cracking down on the betting industry even more and I don't think I'd mind that because it makes me uncomfortable how big the gambling problem in the UK now is - I'm lucky in that I'm in control. Betfair Exchange are really, really lucky that they were first and have such a big reach which means that liquidity is better than anywhere else by a mile. They also have a wider range of markets in general. My experience has pushed me to open accounts at Betdaq and Matchbook but Betfair Exchange still has the best liquidity and more politics markets unfortunately.

In reference to my previous comments about Betfairs Exchange and Sportsbook please DO NOT under any circumstances play any of the casino arcade or slot games on the Sportsbook otherwise you will lose a lot of money and if you know someone who does play them warn them as every single game on there is rigged by Paddy Power. Since Paddy Power took over the Sportsbook arm of Betfair there have been some very suspicious patterns appearing regularly on certain games there is a game called Bounty Raid or Bounty Hunter where you receive double your stake back for hitting certain symbols the object is to hit the Bounty Hunter where the symbols can go upto x 50(so if you bet 10p per spin you would receive 5 if you bet 20p you would get 10)the problem is when you hit the Bounty Hunter you will never see a x 50 symbol you will see x 1 or x 2 symbol on numerous occasions it is exceptionally rare to hit the top symbol but when you do see it its on a spin that doesn't matter this happens all the time when you hit the Bounty Hunter. The Bounty Hunter will vary from going extremely fast during spins to extremely slow I've been in a lot of casino's and I have never ever seen a game do this they are always consistant in their speed and once the reels start to slow down that's it that is when you will start to lose and lose heavily because Paddy Power are manually adjusting the speed of the games while you are playing them to stop you winning. Casino's are casino's you expect to lose the majority of the time you play but also win on a regular basis but I've never seen anything like this you can literally go hundreds and hundreds of spins without winning a penny it is so obvious that the games are rigged and unfortunately Betfair are letting this practice go on right under their noses because they benefit they are allowing Paddy Power to fleece gamers and apart from not playing the games and boycotting the arcade there is not a lot you can do about it. When I joined Betfair in the early 2000's it was the place to be every Sports Bettor wanted to have a Betfair account in my opinion the exchange is fine its punter against punter and Betfair take a commission I have never had a problem with the exchange the odds and bonuses you receive are the best in the business but since Paddy Power came along and took over the Sportsbook there have been a lot of very unhappy customers not just with the arcade but Cash Out issues where the Cash Out option will be rendered defunct as it is suspended for long periods of time stopping users from Cashing Out. Add to that football matches disappearing totally and never reappearing along with numerous other issues in my opinion it is just not worth any Betfair user getting involved with the Sportsbook so my advice is simple DO NOT get involved with the Sportsbook at all totally ignore it just use the Exchange or even better go to another online Betting Portal because I've tested a lot of games on the Sportsbook and pretty much every single one of them is rigged you might aswell just give them your money it is daylight robbery. I cannot believe they can and are getting away with it one of the biggest Sports Betting Firms in the world Paddy Power bleeding their customers dry so go elsewhere where you know that your experience is genuine and your on a level playing field because having played a lot of games on the Sportsbook I have absolutely no confidence in the legitimacy of any of them so I would say as I have said before if you do play them you do so at your own discretion because in my experience you will lose and lose heavily over a period of time.

Got scamed like so many other on the US president election. I even called their support to make it clear that the bet was settled when the president was finally appointed by the senate. Iḿ still confuded about what grounds that betfair considers Biden as the appointed president?
