I have just learned from Betfair that I have somehow signed up to a Self Restriction on my sports betting account since 2019 – that’s news to me!!!The consequence is my access is permanently suspended across the Flutter Group of Betting Companies, making me feel like I’m effectively an irresponsible gambler in their eyes, while nothing could be further from the truth!!!While I do not take this situation lightly, I chatted online with a charming young man called Jack at Betfair to obtain some clarification of my ongoing predicament. Jack assures me he’ll refer my case to a higher authority for further investigation and, hopefully on my part, an end to any restrictions in the future.It appears I’m currently at Flutter Group’s mercy, despite my understanding that I have no dispute whatsoever with any of its associates and, hence, no reason at all to badmouth the good name of Betfair or its partners.I trust they will take the appearance of my feedback on Trustpilot as a measure of my personal concern, while I remain anxious to resolve the situation in my favour.I suppose time will tell while my accounts with the likes of, for example, Unibet remain totally unaffected. However, I’ve assured Jack that I have no recollection on my part of my voluntary Self Restriction to any betting account which evidently includes Paddy Power, Skybet & Betfair.I’ll keep Trustpilot informed of my progress, or otherwise, in this rather distressing matter while my account remains permanently suspended.

I started off at 8.30am being told transferring agent, then about 1030 am I was then put through to one but was now driving so at pull over, wouidnt let me send pdf so at email it, and now still waiting for suspended acc lifted as don’t know how think funded with method not in my name when clearly is, sent bank statements, plus can’t add funding source not in your name, even direct bank transfer you or directed to bank to verify transactions. Without it being your account how would you login/verify it. Still now waiting on response, or if can withdraw money if not going to unsuspend it. All in all not great 4hrs as only just stopped convo with them, now wait and see.

Shocking company if you use one of the offers make sure you read through all the little fine print or you won’t get your free bets! Happened to me quite a few times where I’ve placed the required amount and still received nothing so I’ve closed my account down. Worst experience with a bookies ever

They let me sign up then let me deposit money into my account which I did win abit but the next day I logged in and my account was suspended . So I Web chatted and they want a pic of me a utility bill and a photo of my bank card . So I did that and still suspended So asked for my money and close account and they would only pay me my deposit not winnings. Total joke as they should not let me deposit unless they had what they need. Over the top info . They obviously need my winnings more than me. Treat you like an idiot.

I have had an account for a while and now it has been close for no reason, as apparently they can do that but worse still they refuse to return the balance of my account and say they can only return deposits not winnings. There was £61.84 in my account and they say they can only return £2.48 as that is my deposits and no return of winnings. For starters you can’t just deposit £2.48 into the account and this is complete and utter rubbish. Avoid having an account or if you do make sure you take your money back out after every winning bet.

Aweful experience, trying to tell me how to spend my own money, imposing limits on my account even though I only bet for fun and stay well within my means compared to my income. You’re better off with bet 365

Initially, I was frustrated with the CHAT service. Wasn’t getting anwhere at all! 2 x agents I tried to deal with but there was definetly a communication issue. I had the idea that I was going to need to complain to the gabling authority until I was transferred to a third person. He immediately resolved my issues with Betfair and I came away with a ‘feel good’ buzz. Thank you Charles! I shouldn’t have had to suffer the first 2 hours of incompetence from previous agents though. I am sure they were trying to be helpful but there was just too much of a communication barrier!

Avoid like the plague, I had an issue withdrawing my funds, looked like a glitch on their app. Chat bot only contact , you cant physically speak to a person. I escalated my issue to management after getting fobbed off by 4 different agents on the chat bot. Only to get a flippant response from management telling me to do what I had tried and failed 4 times before after speaking with the Agents – despite me providing my bank statement and being assured a BACS transfer would be organised. Betfair you can keep my money, account closed and App deleted – never again will I use Betfair – shocking customer service.

Class leading for all the wrong reasons. Poor odds with no BOG, really Betfair in 2025? Slots rotten to the core, no bonuses, tiny line pays if you’re lucky to get one despite hundreds of spins. Deposit system slow and prehistoric. Avoid like the plague.

Terrible betting site don’t stick to promotion you can desposit with Apple Pay but but can’t withdraw or claim any reward simply for using Apple Pay, also bingo very small on the screen keeps freezing and there site is very confusing

Placed a £20 bet on the grand national 4 weeks before the race. Horse was a non-runner, but because the bet was placed a month in advance they keep the money, absolute thieves

Constant suspending of account and constant asking to supply the same documents over and over again. In a space of 24hrs account suspended twice. Verified anccount by customer service person only to have account re-suspended again less than 8hrs later asking to supply all documents again plus now I have to provide proof of funds. This seems a bit extreme aa I don’t feel happy about providing them with my full bank account details. Only played one game during time account was playable. Will look to close account once I can get my funds withdrawn which will require ironically account to be unsuspended

Any problems & their usually here very quick..& I think the most understanding firm to deal with…Coral are by far the worst..& always fair & knowledgeable. Have been using Betfair for a while & I don’t think I would use anyone else…a very good firm to bet & deal with…🙂👍👍👍👍

Betfair are the leading betting exchange in the world. Their site is easy to navigate, (which is a non-trivial issue with betting sites) and there is plenty of liquidity. They also have good customer service. Overall a very professional set up. However, there is one fault that I wish they would address. There should be a toggle switch on the bet slip settings that limits the customer’s exposure on any one market so as to prevent laying a favourite at 999-1. It would be so easy to make this change and would protect customers from people trying to profit from other’s mistakes.

It said for new customers “put £5 on and receive £20 free bets”…. so input £5 and it just put £5 into the account. I felt ripped off, next time I’ll just stick to my local betting shop. Scam artists

Awful – know nothing about betting and been invited to Aintree so rather than queuing up thought Id join betfair and place my bets and then just enjoy the day – spent the last hour onto customer services who inform me of ‘sportsbook betting’ so before I even go to the races Im £50 down due to non runners making my bets losing bets – they offer £15 in full and final settlement as a goodwill gesture or you can take it some ombudsmen which will take months to achieve nothing. If youre a gambler then you deserve all you get by getting into bed with these demons. What was going to be a nice day out has been partially ruined by spending an hour arguing with these people! BE CAREFUL – they dont make billions by being nice!

Do not deserve the one star . After having a small win £180 they closed my account was able sort out with in a hr . Just to wake up to it being closed agin . I can’t with draw my funds because I used Apple Pay and the card on account is the same account so can’t with draw money so I add more money from my bank to be able to withdraw but can’t withdraw. And account has been closed agin . Been waiting all day for a email

Worst KYC I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Among other things, they are requiring documents that are literally impossible for me to currently have, which makes it impossible for me to pass the KYC. I have submitted so many documents to them already as well. It’s not like they are doing this to prevent/limit me from betting on the SB because I only bet on the exchange. There are much better exchanges to bet on that don’t do this and also don’t have this insane 5% commission.It’s just not worth it.

I don’t know where to start with this corrupt company as after twenty years of exclusive loyalty to Betfair and I mean exclusive loyalty they have closed my account without my permission. This Company are absolute scam artists!I have had a Betfair Account for many many years however ANY promotional offer i have on my account that i opt in for is NEVER credited onto my account automatically and i have to constantly go on live chat in order to get free bets that i am entitled to credited onto my account..I placed a £10 bet yesterday which was for FREE £10 BET – just place £10 worth of Acca or Bet Builder and i opted into the promotion and selected 4 Football Matches with total odds of 1.5 or greater and also included a Cricket game in there as well.The bet has now been settled as a losing bet and was told earlier on this evening on live chat by an agent called Raul that my bet qualified and i had to wait an hour after the final selections settled in order to get the free bet credited onto my account.I waited over an hour and went back on live chat and spoke with an agent called Vamshi who basically said the bet did not qualify because it contained a Cricket selection but ignoring the fact that the accmulator contained 4 football selections totalling odds of 1.5 or greater.When i asked to speak with a Manager he outright REFUSED for me to speak with one despite saying the Manager confirmed that the bet didn’t qualify and then closed the chat.This Company are complete scam artists and simply make it up as they go along with their scam bots on live chat. I am seriously now thinking about closing my Betfair Account down as the bots on live chat are HORRIFIC to deal with and are extremely rude and refuse to believe evidence regarding screenshots and also Manager requests

So after having my account closed i request a full statement and also a list of the £20000 worth of unsettled bets i have with them.Despite numerous requests no list of unsettled bets has been supplied leaving me unable to manage my positions elsewhere.The statement Betfair provided shows the Profit/Loss of the market but not the selections. e.g Champions league +200 +140 +68 +55 +2.57 etc etc. What teams do these figures relate to?A requirement of their licence is they must treat all customers fairly. By not supplying me with the info i’ve requested is not treating me fairly and has the potential to cause me huge financial harm. Customer support are unbelievably inept and incompetent. Actually speaking to anyone is impossible and live chat pass you from pillar to post. I am going to make an official complaint to the GC because Chrissie in their internal complaints department seemingly sees nothing wrong with the way i have been treated.I was a customer of betfair for over 20 years and all that seemingly counts for nothing.

I won 17.40 pound on a game and it was not credited to my account. I spoke with customer services and they were absolutely dreadful in the way that they handled my problem. I was asked to supply my id for the game and once I gave it to them they proceeded to then transfer me to another agent who told me I was not entitled to a free bet. I was somewhat confused by this time and went back to the original customer service advisor who then asked me for me to answer some security questions. I did so but was informed that they were not the same answer I had previously given them. I was never asked security questions before to the agent. I was trying to explain to the agent that I had only spoken with her some 5 minutes earlier but she was not interested. I was by this time so frustrated with the process I asked for them to close my account. I asked what would happen and they said they would raise a review of my game time and let me know. I had never previously had a problem with Betfair. They have stolen money from me and tried to call me dishonest and fraudulent by trying to claim the money which was mine. Absolutely ridiculous poor service. Shame on you Betfair
